Sintered NdFeB Magnet is the 3rd generation of permanent magnet developed in 1980. It offers the strongest magnetic power today. With its excellent magnetic characteristics, neodymium magnet offers flexibility for new designs or is replacing older materials like AlNiCo and Ceramic in many applications, including high performance motors, brushless DC motors, magnetic separation, magnetic resonance imaging, sensors and loud-speakers etc.
Neodymium cylinder magnets are also known as neodymium rod magnets. They have straight parallel sides and a circular cross section, and are measured according to the Diameter (D) x Length (L). Neodymium (Neo or NdFeB) magnets are permanent magnets, and part of the rare-earth magnet family. Neodymium cylinder magnets have the highest magnetic properties and are the most powerful commercially available magnets today. Because of their magnetic strength, neodymium cylinder magnets are the preferred choice for many consumer, commercial and technical applications.
The higher L/D ratio enables the axially magnetized Neodymium cylinder magnets have higher gauss value and making it well suitable for activating hall sensor and reed switch. In addition, Neodymium cylinder magnet with higher L/D ratio can also generate much stronger pull force from the relatively small magnetic pole area and exhibit superior temperature stability. Other representative application of Neodymium cylinder magnet includes magnetic bead separation rack and some holding applications.
