Traditional bellows-sealed devices, such as linear shifts, can be effectively replaced by magnetically connected linear drives. Additionally, they are ideal there’s no requirement to pass services or devices through from the atmospheric side into the vacuum system.
The MPPL ensures rotation-free movement by providing internally-guided linear motion of the vacuum shaft. Additionally, there is no torque produced by the high axial thrust coupling. The thimble's internal rotation is not caused by its external rotation. This guarantees the most fluid movements.
How does it work?
The range can be manually operated, powered by pneumatics, or by DC or stepper motors. Switches can also be provided to help with system interlocks and avoid over-travel.
Bellows push-pull systems have an easy and inherently safe replacement in the MPPL. The magnetic push-pull eliminates the requirement for edge-welded bellows stacks that are a part of conventional designs by using our magnetic coupling technology. Their removal maximizes vacuum integrity and offers a reliable, economical solution. A bellows-sealed device is not subject to vacuum thrust, and the MPPL is not one of those devices. As a result, the operation is fluid and free-flowing.
