The main ingredients of the AlNiCo magnet, which is the first generation of permanent magnet, are aluminum (Ni), nickel (Ni), cobalt (Co), and iron (Fe). Alnico has the best temperature coefficient of any commercial magnet material, except the most cutting-edge ones, ensuring great stability over a broad temperature range. Despite having some significant residual induction, Alnico has some of the lowest coercivity of any magnetic material. Low coercivity has the effect of making materials more susceptible to demagnetizing forces brought on by shock, external magnetic fields, and application temperatures. Alnico magnets can be magnetically stabilized for important applications to lessen these effects. If like magnet poles are placed together, Alnico magnets can become partially demagnetized.
